Responsible gaming

At Lumogem, we believe in the importance of responsible gaming. While gambling is meant to be fun, it is also important to handle it with care. The objective of our cooperative is to make sure that our members retain their focus on gaming and contribute to its security.

Understand responsible gaming

Responsible gaming means:

Gambling for fun: Treat it as a form of entertainment, not a way to make money.
Setting limits: Know how much time and money you can afford to spend and stick to those limits.
Staying in control: Being able to walk away when you’ve reached your limits or when it’s no longer enjoyable.

Tips for responsible gaming

Set a budget: Decide how much money you are willing to spend and never exceed that amount.
Set time limits: Always have a rough idea of how long you plan to game for or bet and what your time limit will be, consider taking breaks. Every now and then to give your body flying space.
Avoid chasing losses: Never consider gambling as a pay out opportunity! Always understand that this is an activity, there’s a 50/50 chance of winning or losing.
Know the odds: Awareness is key, understand how odds work. Odds simply determine who wins and who loses.
Balance life:  Ensure gambling does not disturb other areas of your life, services, and even your financial situation.

Recognizing problem gambling

It’s important to recognize the signs of a gambling problem:

  • Spending more time and money on gambling than intended.
  • Neglecting responsibilities and interests due to gambling.
  • Borrowing money or selling personal items to fund gambling.
  • Lying to family and friends about gambling habits.
  • Feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed because of gambling.
